The Greenwood Space Travel Supply Co. are purveyors of the finest space travel supplies. We are a real business.
ATTENTION! The Greenwood Space Travel Supply Store is taking its annual post-holiday break and will be closed until Thursday January 19.
The Greenwood Space Travel Supply Co. are purveyors of the finest space travel supplies including scientific theory (in bulk), non-toxic consumables, entertainments suitable for zero-gravity, and soft fiber garments. We are a real business. We are led by the fearless (if not always right) Captain T. McGillicuddy, esq. Oh yeah - the store also functions as the an outreach and fundraising tool for The Greater Seattle Bureau of Fearless Ideas , a non-profit writing and tutoring center for kids.
Hello space fans! THE SPACE BETWEEN US is a new movie about a teenage boy who was born on Mars trying to find a new life on Earth. SIFF Cinema Uptown is holding a special preview screening this Wednesday November 9 at 7pm, and if you'd like to attend, follow the link in the comments to get your free passes! Meanwhile, here's the trailer:
In this interplanetary adventure, a space shuttle embarks on the first mission to colonize Mars, only to discover after takeoff that one of the astronauts is...
Hey, look! The Greenwood Space Travel Supply Store got a nice segment on the TV show Seattle Refined! (The spacey fun starts just after the seven-minute mark.) Enjoy!
seattlerefined.com Refined's episode for Wednesday, Nov. 2nd. We check out the world's largest bowl of pho in Seattle, we go indoor skydiving and find a store for all your space travel needs!
We've been so distracted by Halloween and the whole election brouhaha we've neglected to mention/celebrate/freak-out over the fact that SATURN JUST CHANGED COLOR AND NO ONE KNOWS WHY. Whatever. You do you, Saturn.
good.is Saturn is actually one massive chameleon
There are few things the Greenwood Space Travel Supply Store loves more than a whole bunch of costumed kids swarming our neighborhood en masse, which is why we're so excited about TOMORROW, which brings the Great Annual Trick or Treating along Greenwood Avenue. The fun runs from noon to 3 pm, and Greenwood Space Travel Supply Co. will be handing out candy (and selling space travel supplies) along with 40,000 other Greenwood businesses. An official word from the PhinneyWood event description: "This is a hugely popular event, and there will be hundreds, possibly even thousands, of children walking around the neighborhood, so please be extra careful when driving." See you tomorrow! Until then, behold this image of a Boston terrier dressed as a pickle. (Costume credit: Jake Nelson)
After months of construction and cleanup necessitated by the Greenwood Kaboom, the Greenwood Space Travel Supply Store is at last reopened—and we're celebrating with a brand-new product: Resilience!
As the label reads, "Resilience helps space explorers withstand all that they cannot control, from solar flares and meteor showers to writer's block and gas explosions. Canned for your convenience, resilience is an endlessly renewable resource. WARNING: Resilience does not eradicate uncertainty, worry, sadness, anger, pain, exasperation, human imperfection, plantar warts, errant hairs, flooded storm drains, nihilistic impulses, and/or gas leaks. It simply stops them from stopping you."
Thank you Greenwood! Tonight was a blast, and seeing the store filled up with visitors was just wonderful. Huge thanks to everyone who stopped by, hope to see you again soon!
The Greenwood neighborhood's had a heck of a year, with the horrible-but-blessedly-non-deadly gas explosion and all the repair-related hubbub. But TONIGHT WE CELEBRATE. As the flyer for the Rising Phoenix Party says, tonight is a celebration of "our neighborhood heroes—the supporters and volunteers of the Greenwood explosion relief efforts." The party goes down from 6-9 pm on Greenwood Avenue between 84th and 85th, and there will be music, food (including a Mr. Gyros food truck!), and all-ages funstuffs. Bonus: the freshly refurbished Greenwood Space Travel Supply Store will stay open till 9pm to be a part of the party. Stop by and say hi!
Big News! While you've all been running low on rocket fuel, ray gun ammo and space gadgetry, we've softly relaunched the store! We opened, largely unannounced, this Wednesday in order to test our new dark-matter powered register, photon lights and roof-top landing pad (now accepting SpaceX's Dragon rockets!)
Drop on by today until 9pm during our extended hours for the Greenwood Recovery celebration across the street from us, which is from 6-9pm.
Huzzah! We're back!
